Description

This class helps those new to leadership, whether the new role is as a team leader, or as a supervisor. This class will help individuals learn how to navigate the new responsibility of leading former co-workers. Participants will be given concepts to help them set boundaries, establish goals and expectations, provide feedback, and motivate team members. TOPICS Define the leader’s/supervisor’s role, and how it differs from other members of the work groupTips for delegating work, and setting goalsHow to provide constructive feedbackLearn how to build an appropriate work environment without crossing supervisor/co-worker boundariesPractice techniques for dealing with difficult behaviorsHow to follow up on goals and workgroup targets with subordinatesKnowing when and how to ask for helpThis course is a partnership event planned and hosted by Employers Network and OneSpartanburg. INSTRUCTOR Julie Sanom ATTENDANCE Registered participants who fail to attend a class ('no-shows') will be charged full class cost. The 'no-show' fee may not be used as a credit for another EN class, or other type of event or service. A 'late notice' charge (50% of the class fee) will be charged for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled class starting time. The 'late notice' charge may not be used as a credit for another EN class. or other type of event or service. EN provides training, information, and guidance to help its members recruit, train, engage and retain associates in workplaces that value sound management practices and enlightened employer-employee relations programs. Our training services include leadership skills, team-building, service excellence, human resources issues, and computer software.
