Majority 54 Live Podcast Recording Join Jason Kander and Ravi Gupta for a live recording of their podcast, Majority 54! Let's give Ravi a warm welcome to Kansas City. Meet us at The Shelter in Loose Park for an evening of music and political conversation. Bring a beer, some dinner, and your favorite picnic blanket. ## Majority 54 is a weekly primer that helps the majority of Americans who voted for progress talk some sense into their friends & family. Co-hosts Jason Kander and Ravi Gupta draw on their experience winning progressive campaigns in red states to give you the tools necessary to combat the latest in misinformation, propaganda, and whatever your right-wing co-worker saw on Facebook. Jason Kander joined the Army after September 11, 2001, served in Afghanistan as a military intelligence officer, and rose to the rank of Captain. Today, he serves as President of Veterans Community Project and is leading the organization’s national expansion. A former Missouri state legislator and Missouri Secretary of State, he was the first millennial in the nation elected to a statewide office. After over-performing the Democratic presidential ticket by 16 points but narrowly failing to unseat an incumbent Republican Senator in 2016, Jason founded Let America Vote, a national campaign against voter suppression. He served as a teaching fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics, worked as a CNN Commentator, and appeared on every major television network. President Barack Obama, in his final oval office interview, was asked who he viewed as the future of the Democratic Party, and the first person he mentioned was Jason Kander. Ravi Gupta is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Arena, which was founded after the 2016 election to support a new generation of civic leaders. He is also the Founder and former CEO of RePublic Schools, a network of charter schools in the South. RePublic’s two flagship schools are the first and only two charter schools in Tennessee to rank in the top five percent of all public schools for growth and absolute performance. Ravi previously served as Special Assistant and Speechwriter to Susan Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. He also spent two years working on Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign – joining then-Senator Obama’s exploratory committee and working through the primary and general elections. He ran fundraising and voter turnout operations in more than a half dozen states during the primary election and served as assistant to Chief Strategist David Axelrod during the general election. Ravi received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his B.A. from Binghamton University, where he was named a Truman Scholar and was awarded the University Medal, the school's highest honor. In 2012, he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List.
