Encore specializes in event rentals of tables, chairs, tents, dinnerware and furniture throughout the Wine Country and greater Bay Area. Job Summary The Event Delivery Driver is an essential position within Encore Events and represents the company while working with clients on site. This position offers great customer service as you interact with clients, vendors, and venues throughout the day. Delivery drivers lead their delivery team in the warehouse and on the road. They ensure all orders are delivered successfully including equipment preparation, accurate product count, safe loading and on time delivery and execution. Primary Responsibilities and Duties Transportation • Abide by all California transportation laws • Properly and safely operate a box truck (16’-26’) • Load, transport, and deliver items to clients in a safe, timely manner as scheduled • Conduct daily inspection of assigned truck before leaving the warehouse and report any issues to Dispatch • Successfully navigate alternating delivery and pickup routes Communication • Contact client prior to arrival as instructed by contract • Upon arrival greet client and present yourself as direct contact • Delegate expectations and order details with delivery team while on site • Inform delivery team of strategic plan for install or delivery of rentals • Communicate with Dispatch regularly throughout the day, including reporting any missing items or client issues • Maintain positive working relationship with management and co-workers through strong communication and team approach • Communicate professionally and openly with Encore Events management, staff, clients, and vendors • Ensure delivery team is taking all required breaks and lunch breaks on time, while on the road General • On time for scheduled shift in Encore Events Rentals uniform and prepared for the day • Follow safety practices, on the road and while loading and unloading trucks at the warehouse and job site • Provide great customer service by addressing all client questions, complaints, and concerns while onsite and communicating those to Dispatch • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and company-supplied tools for you and your delivery team • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure product quantities are correct and in good condition • Set up and install rental equipment as instructed by contract, schematic, and client • Learn and maintain product knowledge of rental equipment including tables, chairs, dancefloor, stage, kitchen equipment, screens, lounge furniture, heaters, linen, ware-wash items and more • Encore Events Rentals is open 7 days a week, 40+ hours a week and weekends are required - Must be flexible to adjust schedule based on company requirements as needed • The job description is not designed to include all activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice, at the discretion of the company Qualifications, Skills and Education • Must be at least 21 years of age • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent • Possess and maintain a current, valid California driver license as accepted by our insurance carrier • Read and write English, bilingual in Spanish a plus • Basic math skills required • Familiar and comfortable with using navigation systems • Strong attention to detail • Great customer service skills • Adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently without supervision and within a team environment • Ability to take on and complete tasks • Ability to effectively share and exchange information with others Working Conditions and Physical Requirements The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: • Required to lift 25-50 pounds consistently, occasionally up to 75 pounds • Ability to lift 20–30-pound objects overhead with or without assistance • Position requires extensive standing, walking, and considerable bending and lifting for extended periods of time The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and key responsibilities of this position.
