The Meyer Amphitheatre, Saturday, June 19 (from 1 – 9 pm)
JOIN US for a daylong Declaration Juneteenth Solidarity Celebration at the Meyer Amphitheatre in downtown West Palm Beach, @ 104 Datura St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Plans include a welcoming invocation, opening ceremonies, the singing of the Black National Anthem and a history from the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum. There will be a presentation of an award for best 8th grade written essay held by the School District of Palm Beach County, and a staged reading of an original work about Harriet Tubman. There will be speeches by local dignitaries, spiritual and civic leaders from across the county, followed by live music and dance, drumming, poetry/spoken-word and children’s activities. Community service providers such as the United Way of Palm Beach County, 211 Helpline and Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County will have booths. We will have a variety of traditional Juneteenth specialties and soul foods from a dozen food trucks and food stands, and vendors of colorful artwork, jewelry, clothing and more. In addition, there will be COVID-19 vaccinations and free food boxes and take-home bags for the needy.
