Press release from Northwell Health: June 2, 2021 Health care practitioners at three Northwell Health immediate care centers on Fire Island were available in time for Memorial Day weekend. The Northwell Health Immediate Care Centers in Ocean Beach , Cherry Grove and Saltaire will be open for the summer season through Labor Day weekend. Ailments that can be treated at these locations include, but are not limited to:· Minor injuries and burns;· Sprains and strains;· Allergic reactions;· Mild asthma;· Rashes and skin irritations, including poison oak, poison ivy and insect bites. A Northwell Health medical professional will be available at each of these locations six days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Fridays, a medical professional will be available from 4 p.m. 6 p.m. If someone requires treatment outside of those hours or a higher level of care, patients can call emergency numbers and the police will direct them to the appropriate medical care, including nearby South Shore University Hospital. "As in all Northwell Health facilities, COVID-19 protocols will remain in place at all three clinics, and masks will be required to enter," said Edward Fraser, MHA, vice president of community relations at Northwell Health and project manager of the Fire Island Immediate Care Centers.
