Danbury To Close Rogers Park Coronavirus Vaccination Center

DANBURY, CT — The city will close its coronavirus vaccination center at Rogers Park Middle School on Thursday, following its 1-7 p.m. clinic. The move comes as demand for the vaccine continue to wane, infection levels in the state and the nation plummet, and additional mobile clinics are deployed statewide. Danbury continues to lag behind its neighboring states in vaccinations, according to the latest data released by the state Department of Public Health Thursday. In Hat City, 54.58 percent of residents have received their first dose, and 42.43 percent are fully vaccinated, according to DPH. In Ridgefield, 56.54 percent of residents are fully vaccinated, and 67.30 percent have received their first dose. The clinic was supported by Danbury Health Department staff, local volunteers, the Danbury Police Department and Police Cadets, Western Connecticut State University's nursing program, and local nurses. The vaccine remains available at the mass vaccination site at the Danbury Fair Mall, as well as numerous pharmaceutical outlets in the city.
