County Buildings Will Reopen Soon In Anne Arundel

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Anne Arundel County government buildings will reopen next month. Workers will return on July 6. Residents can enter on July 19. "The return to County offices is only possible because of the progress we have made with containing the pandemic and getting folks vaccinated," County Executive Steuart Pittman said Tuesday in a press release announcing his decision. "If you haven't been yet, go get your shot - we need a summer surge in vaccinations to prevent a fall surge in cases." Pittman added that Anne Arundel County is finalizing a telework policy to let some employees continue working remotely. These staffers will need to get permission, however. "We'll be working closely with agency leadership to track the effectiveness of the reopening process," Chief Administrative Officer Matt Power said. "We will be closely monitoring COVID-related protocols as employees return to workspaces, as the health and safety of our workforce remains a top priority."
