ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police arrested seven people on DUI charges over the Memorial Day weekend. Here is information from the reports: Trystan Hayes, 22, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol and no valid driver's license. He was released on bond. Miguel Gomez, 29, of Bensenville, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Grand and Old Grand on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, transportation of open alcohol, improper lane usage and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was released on bond. His arrest was after a car crash. Shannon Lavelle, 21, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Route 83 on charges of DUI, speeding and illegal transportation of open alcohol. The suspect was released on bond. The substance in question was taken to a crime laboratory for analysis. Joseph Vitagliano, 57, of Wheaton, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at North and Larch on charges of DUI (drugs), possession of drug paraphernalia, injuring city property and improper lane usage. He was released on bond. His arrest was after a car crash. Emma Lanners, 30, of Lombard, was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday at Roosevelt and York on charges of DUI, speeding and improper lane usage. She was released on bond. Jose Chavelas-Valent, 46, of Berkeley, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Michigan and North on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.Kevin Gillespie, 61, of Maywood, was arrested Monday in the 300 block of West St. Charles on charges of DUI (drugs), possession of a controlled substance, driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. His arrest was after a car crash. He was also wanted on a Lake County Sheriff's Office warrant.
