American Rescue Plan: SGV Officials To Outline Spending Plan

GLENDORA, CA — San Gabriel Valley officials will provide an overview of how cities in the area plan to use funds from the American Rescue Plan during a webinar scheduled for June 10. The event will feature representatives from Pasadena, Montebello, Glendora and Pomona who will detail how they will use the money to "support fiscal recovery efforts and removing/keeping outdoor improvements after the pandemic," according to event organizers. President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package into law on March 11, and California is expected to receive around $26 billion to use at the state level and $16 billion for cities and counties, the National League of Cities reported. Around $52.6 million will go to Pasadena, $16.76 million to Montebello, $7.52 million to Glendora and $45.36 million to Pomona. The American Rescue Plan is also expected to provide $6.83 million to Diamond Bar, $8.9 million to Arcadia, $15 million to Monterey, $17.9 million to Rosemead, $19.6 million to West Covina, $21.8 million to Alhambra, $22.9 million to Baldwin Park and $42.5 million to El Monte, according to the National League of Cities. Representatives from those cities are not expected to speak at the event. The San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership and San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments will present the webinar.
