Press release from the Berkeley Unified School District: Trish McDermott June 1, 2021 At a June 1, 2021 Special Board of Education meeting, the Berkeley Unified School District Board of Education approved the BUSD Expanded Learning Opportunities Grant Plan for providing supplemental instruction and support to students, including those identified as needing academic, social-emotional, and other supports. BUSD is receiving approximately $6.6 Million dollars for expanded learning opportunities in response to the pandemic. This fund gives the District a unique chance to offer supplemental supports for students including supports for the District's Homeless youth.
