Plateau Land & Wildlife Management is looking to fill multiple Seasonal Wildlife Services Technician positions to keep up with growth through the end of 2021 and potentially beyond. Seasonal employees may have an opportunity to hire on as permanent employees as positions become available. Seasonal staff must be dependable, arrive to work on time, and have a reliable means of transportation. Seasonal Technicians will use company vehicles, but any work performed using a personal vehicle for business related reasons will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate ($0.56 per mile). Applicants must have a clean driving record, current Texas driver’s license, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Both a background check and driving record request will be performed for applicants under consideration. Primary Job Responsibilities: -Wildlife management product installation and servicing of rainwater collection systems, wildlife feeders, and songbird nesting boxes -Conducting treatments for Imported Red Fire Ants -Performing brush management by way of herbicide application or mechanical means (chainsaw) -Data collection, field documentation, and digital processing for client services performed. Required Skills and Qualifications: -High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) -Attention to detail, dependability, and accountability -Excellent communication skills: Applicant must be effective in communicating via phone, email, text, and in person -Excellent stamina: This position requires extended hiking in irregular terrain -Ability to work in harsh weather conditions such as triple digit heat, rain, and cold -Able to frequently lift and transfer 50lb feed bags and move bulky products to/from utility trailers or truck beds -Ability to handle long drive times to and from client properties Preferred Skills and Qualifications: -Familiarity with iOS (iPad), Microsoft and Adobe software and applications -Off road driving experience with four-wheel drive vehicles -Ability to tow and back a utility trailer utilizing mirrors -Experience with power tools, and chainsaws -Backcountry orienteering -First Aid/CPR/Wilderness First Aid Training Certification -Experience with Avenza Pro, Arc GIS, Javascript Seasonal Wildlife Services Technicians must maintain confidentiality regarding our clients and their properties at all times. Customer service experience is preferred. As our service region includes several additional counties surrounding Hays and Travis Counties expect extended drive times and varied end times based on job completion. Flexibility to work overtime beyond the 7AM-4PM schedule is needed. Plateau is Monday through Friday. No weekend work is required. Wildlife biology related course work is beneficial but not needed for employment consideration. Plateau Land & Wildlife Management is striving for a 100% vaccinated work force.
