Seeking Worship Band Members

The contemporary worship team at St. John's UMC in Georgetown is resuming in-person worship and is seeking new musicians to join the band. The current band consists of the worship leader singing and playing piano, a player on 12-string acoustic guitar who provides back-up singing, and a drummer who can also play bass. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at the church from 6:30pm-7:30/8:00pm. Sunday morning quick run-through and sound check occurs at 10:30am and the service is at 11:00am. Music style is standard Christian contemporary music, with a mix of some gospel and adapted hymns. We are currently playing two songs at the top of the service and one at the end, but may expand that number later on. Types of roles we are looking for: Vocals, Guitar (Acoustic and/or Electric), Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, Percussion Participation in the band does NOT require weekly commitment. Musicians are free to participate on weeks that are convenient for them, and if we have multiple musicians for a particular role who are available, then we will schedule a rotation for them. Please submit a short bio related to your musical experience. If you have any audio/video recordings of yourself performing that you can share, those would also be helpful.
