Description

Join us with EverGreens Microgreens for a comprehensive lesson (complete with sampling!) about all things Microgreen! Microgreens are young vegetable greens harvested anywhere between 7-12 days. They have an intense aromatic flavor and concentrated nutrient content and come in a variety of colors and textures. In fact, research comparing microgreens to more mature greens reports that nutrient levels in microgreens can be up to nine times higher than those found in mature greens! The founders of Evergreens Microgreens will be here to teach you and taste you through a variety of microgreens, while we will head up the wine pairing portion. Tickets are $40 for two people and include a bottle of wine (you get to choose which one from several offerings), lots of yummy greens, as well as a lecture and a wine tasting comparing and contrasting what different types of wines do to the flavor profile of the microgreens. For those who attend class, small bites featuring microgreens will be available for pre-purchase to enjoy with class. We hope you can join us! Barnard Griffin began in 1983 with borrowed grapes and a rented cellar. It has since become one of Washington’s most enduring and award-winning wineries. At the helm then and now is one of the most experienced winemakers in Washington State, Rob Griffin. In addition to the winery production facility, the Richland campus is home to a tasting room, full service restaurant and fused glass art studio.
