TEDxUStreetSalon is a local, independently organized event to be to be held in Washington DC. We want this to be an event that strives to recreate the unique experience found at TED, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers congregate to share what they are most passionate about. At its core, the fundamental goal of TED and TEDxUStreetSalon is to foster and spread great ideas. We aim to provide a platform where the smartest thinkers, greatest visionaries, and most fascinating teachers will be inspired and will have the opportunity to inspire others. I decided to expand the TEDxUStreet brand because I recognized that I was missing a critical market audience – men. The TEDxUStreetWomen conference is considered to be the signature event of the TEDxUStreet brand. TedxUStreetSalon events provide additional value to the brand by having several smaller event before and after the TEDxUStreetWomen conference. These events do not to replace each other, but complement each other (Just like men and women). TEDxSalons are designed to be small but impactful. A critical element of salon is lively discussions, allowing attendees to actively participate in the event. With much smaller audiences, salons bring attendees together in more intimate spaces, and with more chances to get know and exchange ideas as with each other. This is part 2 of the 3-part series where we will discuss the role women play in the Future of Men of Color. As mothers, grandmothers, sisters, wives, and friends’ women play a huge role in how they support the men in their lives. In our last series, we looked at the future of men from the lenses of the external world. In this session, we will look at it from an internal perspective where we examine how men see themselves as well as the various roles women play in their life. We will bring back some of our past speakers from both the TEDxUStreetWomen (2019 & 2020) and TEDxUStreetSalon events to help us start the conversation. As always, audience participation is encouraged. We will have panel discussions, live audience interaction, networking opportunities, vendors, view past talks from TED, TEDxUStreetWomen and TEDxUStreetSalon. This is an event you won’t want to miss. Check out the website for updated times and speakers at www.tedxustreetsalon.com. The TEDxUStreetSalon team is very excited about our Salon events. As with our TEDxUStreetWomen conference, we expect that our newest brand will maintain our standards of quality and success. As a TEDxUStreetSalon speaker, you will have the support from the TEDxUStreetWomen team and followers as well as the support of other individuals who share in the vision of spreading ideas worth sharing.
