Full Job Description Hiring for multiple construction related positions such as carpentry/framers, drywall installer, concrete form setters/finisher, tile/wood flooring installers, painters, and Operators for backhoe and dozer. Candidates should have expertise in the trade and preferably perform several tasks listed within. Focus on high quality work, efficiency, and teamwork collaboration is required. Essential functions for each position listed below with duties and skilled required but not limited to: Carpenters/framers • Experience in reading plans and bringing job to code with inspections • Measuring and accurately cutting building materials. Designing/assembling structures. • Building structures from wood and supporting materials. Frames for houses, walls, and other structures • Ability to lift/carry heavy pieces of material or structures. Use of saws, power tools and various tools Drywall Installer • Responsible for installing wall boards to ceilings or to interior walls of buildings and applying plaster. Smooths out imperfections with trowels and shackles. Applies coats of compound after panels are mounted to walls or ceiling. • Work with ceiling tile installers to build walls. Read blueprints and designs. Cover nail and screw depressions with spackle. Apply second and third coats of compound. Sand areas after each coast. • Measure, cut, fit, and fasten panels. Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing. Concrete form Setters/Finisher • Perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather conditions. Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walks, sidewalks, walls, footings, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools and equipment • Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut contraction joints. Construct, erect, install, and repair forms and fixtures of wood or plywood using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools. Hand and power tools will be of all types, including but not limited to: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, concrete saws, surveying and measuring equipment, small equipment, and skid steer loaders. • Clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support formwork, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and tear out concrete. Tile/Wood flooring installers • Prepare floor surfaces for installation or repair; create floor foundation • Measure and cut and mix floor materials based on agreed-upon blueprints and sketches • Install new floors that can be inclusive of carpet, linoleum, laminate, hardwood, and tile floors. Apply floor finishes, ensure there no bubbles, errors in the installation; refinishes with sanders, sealers, varnished, and floor waxes Painters • Selecting the correct tools and paints for projects. Preparing walls and other surfaces before painting. • Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish. • Using fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks. Covering exposed objects and surfaces. Operators for backhoe and dozer • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures. • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers. Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation. • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse. • Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material. Required Education and Experience: Employers looking for candidates who have a high school diploma or GED and at least five year of trade experience preferred. Candidates with formal vocational training or an apprenticeship are especially attractive. Some of the trades require Licensure.
