Description

Join us for a sensory filled yoga class followed by a sound healing bath! The evening includes a sensory filled Yoga class led by Stephanie Coggins teaching SPA and Liz Raymond (meditation teacher and sound bath certified) leading the sound healing bath. Move through the physical practice of SPA yoga to awaken the senses, open the body's subtle energy channels and prepare the body to experience new depths of awareness. Our physical practice of asana balances the elements in the body, allowing us to surrender fully to the experience of savasana and sound healing. Instruments played will encourage relaxation of the body, guide the mind to enter an alpha-beta state, and aid in balancing the chakras. During the somatic experience we will have a calming candle lit room atmosphere and delightful scents will accompany a slow flow. The sonic experience will harmonize the mind, body, and spirit through vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls. What to Bring: Yoga mat, blanket, bolster or pillow, and yoga blocks. *The Collective Co. members receive 10% off ticket price! Stephanie Coggins, 200 RYT, Vinyasa, Buti, SPA From a young age, Stephanie has been an athlete. Whether it was competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, figure skating, or playing street hockey with her brother, she loves being active. As she became older, her muscles would sore quicker and her joints were stiff immediately after a workout. She admits she wasn’t originally draw to yoga and the one class she tried at the gym left her feeling, just, blah. In 2013, Stephanie was going through a difficult time in her life and decided to try a class at a local yoga studio with a few friends. This time, not only did she want her body to be relieved from pain, she also wanted her mind to be clear. When she walked into the studio she felt a sense of community, love, and dang, did it smell good! Shortly after, the aches and pains would dissapear and she was starting to feel herself again. Over the past few years, she has become passionate about her practice and using the tools she learned to help her students who might be struggling physically and mentally just like she had been. “The practice of yoga is a practice and every time we show up ON OUR mat the practice will feel different. Maybe you didn’t sleep well the night before or you’re anxious about the day ahead of you. Whatever the day may bring, what’s important is that you leave what doesn’t serve you purpose on your mar." Stephanie is continuing her practice spring 2018 with a certification in Buti Yoga, a practice that empowers women and men of all ages to promote happiness and health. In the future she would like to be certified in working with post-traumatic stress and chronic conditions such as grief, depression, and anxiety. The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. Namaste!
