Create your own cutting board from a raw piece of hardwood in this fun workshop.
In this 2.5 to 3 hour workshop, you will create your own finished cutting board. You will start by choosing a lovely piece of raw hardwood to cut down to shape on the chop saw, then add details with the drill press and router tables. Lastly, you will sand your piece to a lovely finish with both the drum sander and hand sanding block. During this project, you will use a variety of power tools, hand tools and butcher block oils to finish your project.

What to wear :
Closed-toe shoes, short sleeves and, work clothes. Long hair must be tied back.Please note butcherblock wax/oil can stain, so work cloths is a must.Safety Gear :
Eye protection, and ear protection, and all the hand sanitizer will be provided. If you have special needs bring your own.
This class requires a minimum of 2 students per session. If the class is canceled we can offer a refund but otherwise do not. All proceeds go to support Ace Makerspace programs that serve over 1100 people a year in the greater East Bay.
