Paddle with us from southern Hamilton County to the north side of Indy! Don a life vest and hop aboard a raft for this easy float from Hamilton County to Marion County. We’ll start at Hazel Dell Landing Park, pause at points along the way and conclude at Central Indiana Land Trust's Oliver’s Woods. Shuttles will return you to your car at the end of the float. All attendees are expected to help paddle their rafts. All equipment is included with your ticket price. You have the option of purchasing a copy of Next Indiana Campfires: A Trail Companion with your ticket. COVID-19 Protocols: No food or drink will be served during this year's Campfires. Please bring your own water bottle and snacks. Masks will be required to be worn by all attendees. Tickets for floats will be sold in groups of 4 that will be seated together on a raft. A full refund will be granted to anyone who does not feel well on the day of the event. Please do not attend if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.SCHOLAR-FACILITATOR: TBD TRAIL DIFFICULTY: Easy-Moderate (depending on your paddling experience) THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND Space is limited so advance registration is required. If all tickets are claimed, you will automatically be added to the waitlist and be notified if tickets should become available. A limited number of need-based waivers are available. To request a waiver, email Claire Mauschbaugh ([email protected]). Depending on the weather, some trails may be wet, so wear shoes that can handle the mud! We will send a final confirmation two days before the event with driving and parking instructions and any other updates. In case of inclement weather, Indiana Humanities will cancel the event and alert you via email at least two hours prior to event start time. If the event is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. Events are designed for ages 12 and up. A full refund may be requested up to 72 hours in advance. ABOUT CAMPFIRES Campfires pairs nature and literature to spark conversations about Indiana’s future.
