Description

Please join us for our inaugural literary salon, featuring readings by 6 distinguished writers, sharing pieces on their pandemic experience. Welcome to the first of a series of readings by some of New York's leading writers. Our guest readers represent a cross-section of the literary world, featuring authors of published works from poems to essays to books and beyond. We are thrilled to invite you to an evening of (brief) readings by these renowned authors talking about the life-lessons they learned when the world stopped: Julie Besonen of The New York Times and Paper MagazineKathleen Collins, author of From Rabbit Ears to the Rabbit Hole: A Life with TelevisionFranco D’Alessandro, author of Everything is Something Else: New And Selected PoemsKathleen Squires of The Wall Street JournalAndrea Strong of The Strong Buzz and The New York TimesHannah Walhout of Travel & Leisure and Headway QuarterlyNot only are we serving up a meaty buffet of contemporary literature, but as food-lovers, we are also sharing wine and bites to keep the juices flowing. So, come on down to Little Italy and get your culture on! Oh, one more thing, this is not a money-making thing; the ticket proceeds go to covering the food, wine and clean-up. That's why they're only $20 and there's only 25 of 'em. Maybe later we'll get more ambitious, but for now, it's just a get-together among friends because we kinda need it...and that's what these writers will be talking about. Be Vaxxed. Waxed optional. Chef's Dinner Series is a NYC-based private dining club modeled after the "Puerta Cerrada" dinners of Buenos Aires. Ronnie the Maitre D' organizes dining events for foodies who like to have fun. We eat, drink, and make merry without being fussy about it. We prefer smaller gatherings and higher quality food and wine. Whenever we can, we get a celebrity chef to cook for us! If it sounds like you are one of us, email us at [email protected].  No strangers here, only friends we have yet to meet!
