Out of the Box: Featuring Diverse stories in many styles of how we Think. Feel. Live.
This event amplifies the voices of five BIPOC members of our community as they share stories about their identity, focusing on personal experiences surrounding how they think, feel, and live.
This diverse group of five featured speakers: Connie Blick, Len Childers, Joshua Ghantous, Leigh Giles-Brown, Shahrzad Hamzeh and Rosie Hauck will each share intimate stories about a lived experience through their own personal lens. The company has worked together under the direction of Len Childers to shape their stories into many different styles and elevate them into a mode of expression that most strongly supports their experience, whether that be spoken word, poetry, dance, a monologue, or narrative piece.
Out of the Box will take place on the lawn outside of Heartland at 5 pm on Friday, June 25 and Saturday June 26. In the case of rain on these dates, a rain date is scheduled for Sunday, June 27 at 5:00 pm. Please bring your own chair for seating.
The event is free, though donations are greatly appreciated and can be made via Venmo or cash.
We respectfully request audience members are masked during the performance.
