Sam: "I got to catch my buddy Dane play a late show at the Muse the first weekend we started seeing a bit of normalcy return. Marianne was with me, some of the band was with me, it was a feeling I’m sure I’ve felt an awful lot before, but the return of that feeling was inspiring. Interacting again in the environment of the Muse with some of the arts and music community really lit me up. Seeing music in such a great venue, and catching up with some of the Charlotte music family was right on time. I had a similar feeling with all the folks from our scene at Jake Rothwell’s birthday house show over the weekend. Catching up at shows is one of the main ways the local art and music community get to see each other. As we’re starting to kick our feet again after a rough run of things, come and join us for another installment of the revival. Because it’s the place to be. Sam started a variety livestream in 2020 (Sam on Sunday) that Time Sawyer brought back in 2021 for a second season with full band shows every other episode. The Livestream has reached over 150,000 and had over 100 guests from far and wide featured virtually on the show. The experience was a way for Sam and the band to better stay connected with their peers, make some new friends, keep ties strong with old friends, and help keep the ship afloat. As normalcy begins to return, Sam is ready to get back to doing what is most important to him musically, connecting face to face with listeners. He’ll see you at The Muse. For Sam, time is a muse for songwriting; it’s the thread that runs through life, bringing new experiences and giving us a sense of urgency, while still connecting us with our past. He has performed either solo or with Time Sawyer on the stages of some of the Southeast’s most iconic festivals, including Merlefest, Floydfest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Rhythm n’ Blooms, Carolina in the Fall and IBMA’s Bluegrass First Class sharing bills with the likes of Langhorne Slim, Phil Cook, Steep Canyon Rangers, The Wood Brothers, Joe Pug, John Moreland, and more.
