Description

The Upper Wood River is a gorgeous, meandering section within the forest that opens up onto Frying Pan Pond. Join WPWA's guided paddle. The Wood River is considered Wild and Scenic by a national designation. The Upper Wood River paddle is typically challenging, with fun turns and some tight spots. Immerse yourself in the forest this weekend. The Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association (WPWA) will provide kayaks, gear and guides. Life jacket must be worn at all times. The heavy wind this past weekend may have created obstacles in the river. Experience kayaking is required. Cost: Free for Otter and Osprey Members. $25 for Trout, Dragonfly and Student members. $35 for Non members. Registration required. The Wood Pawcatuck Watershed Association is a private non-profit conservation organization who has protected and preserved the watershed for over 35 years. Our members, donors and program participants help fund our efforts to develop the future stewards of the watershed through education, outreach, and advocacy. Please visit www.wpwa.org to learn more about our membership benefits, river restoration work, and the watershed’s prestigious National Park Service Wild & Scenic Rivers designation.
