FREE catalytic converter etching event for residents of Montebello. The Montebello Police Department, in partnership with Helms & Hill Tow, Chevrolet of Montebello and Ford of Montebello will be hosting a FREE catalytic converter etching event for residents, where vehicle VIN numbers will be etched onto the catalytic converter of your vehicle. Engraving the VIN number on your catalytic converter can assist in investigations if your catalytic converter is stolen and can deter criminals from stealing it. This Etch & Catch event will take place on Saturday, June 19th, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will be held at 652 S. Maple Ave. This event is free for Montebello residents and is limited to 50 vehicles. Those Montebello residents who make a reservation will have their vehicle's VIN number engraved onto the catalytic converter. In doing so, this will serve as a deterrent to would be thieves and will assist law enforcement with investigations of catalytic converter thefts.In order to participate, you must be a Montebello resident and be the registered owner of the vehicle. After registering for the event, please print your ticket and bring it to the event. Any vehicle without a ticket to the event will not be allowed entry. In addition to the ticket to the event, please bring your driver's license and vehicle registration. The registered owner of the vehicle must be in attendance.Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Upon arrival, Department personnel will guide you into the event and will give you further direction. Due to COVID-19 regulations, all participants must wear face masks.
