SARASOTA, FL – A Sarasota man was among the latest four members of the Oath Keepers, a right-wing paramilitary group, who have been charged in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot. Joseph Hackett, 51, was named in a Wednesday indictment that was unsealed over the weekend, WWSB reported. Among his charges: conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, aiding and abetting, destruction of government property, and illegally entering a restricted building or grounds. Others newly added to the indictment, which names Oath Keepers from around the country, include Jason Dolan, 44, of Wellington, Florida and William Isaacs, 21, of Kissimmee, Florida, USA Today reported. The fourth new individual has been redacted from the file. Hackett began participating in virtual meetings with the Oath Keepers and planning for the Jan. 6 trip to Washington, D.C. in November, reports said. Like what you're reading? According to court documents, Hackett and other Oath Keepers reportedly "prepared themselves for battle before heading to the Capitol by equipping themselves with communication devices and donning reinforced vests, helmets, and goggles." A 54-year-old Englewood Oath Keeper, Graydon Young, who has been in custody for about two months, faces additional charges in this latest indictment, including civil disorder, aiding and abetting, and, because he deleted his Facebook profile, tampering with documents or proceedings, reports said. He was initially arrested in February.
