Description

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham is seeking a new member to serve on the Board of License Commissioners (BLC), an important body that grants permission for everything from restaurants to fortune-tellers to operate in the city. BLC Chair Adam Barnosky is leaving the board this summer due to a move out of Framingham. Otherwise, his term would've lasted until the end of 2023. The five-member BLC is one of the most important stops for businesses seeking to open (or stay open) in Framingham. And since the pandemic began, the board has been overseeing the process for restaurants to open outdoor seating areas — a discussion that will continue at the next meeting on Monday. Barnosky's replacement will be chosen by Mayor Yvonne Spicer with approval from the City Council. Anyone interested in applying should do so on the city website. Questions about the post can be sent to Citizen Participation Officer Alaa Abusalah at either [email protected] or 508-532-5510.
