Description

WAUKESHA, WI—The Waukesha Common Council will consider the proposal to eliminate three bus stops during the Tuesday meeting. The bus stops being proposed for elimination have low ridership, other stops in close proximity and not ADA accessible, according to city documents. The following are: Route 5Burr Oak Blvd. at Chapman Dr (south side of street) Route 6 and 5/6 W. Sunset Dr. west of Oakdale Drive (south side of street)Woodfield Park opposite to 128 Cambridge Ave. Route 7/8Michigan Ave. at Greenmeadow Dr. The cost to remove the bus stops is minimal. In the long term there is a savings as there are fewer bus stops and the City does not have to incur the cost of adding bus stop pads to make these stops accessible, the documents said.
