Description
BEVERLY, MA —Beverly dog owners looking to take their little buddies down to the park this summer should be aware of where and when their beloved pets are allowed.
New Beverly dog ordinances went into effect on Monday which allows dogs into Lynch Park only between 6 and 7:30 a.m. Dogs are prohibited from the Rose Garden at all times.
Dogs are allowed in other city parks prior to 7:30 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. each day. They are otherwise prohibited from parks, beaches, playgrounds and tennis courts with exceptions for each ward.
Dogs are allowed in the following sections of each park in each ward, but must remain on a leash and under control at all times:
Ward 1: Femino Park on Lindsay Avenue
Ward 2: Independence Park (restricted from the beach between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.)
Ward 3: Beverly Common
Ward 4: Cooney Athletic Field behind the outfield fence
Ward 5: Colgate Park — not allowed on the playground at any time.
Ward 6: Dix Park — not allowed on the playground or tennis courts at any time.
Dogs are not allowed in cemeteries at any time.
"Be a responsible dog owner and properly dispose of your dog's waste at all times," Beverly Animal Control said. "Please bag it and take it home with you from the parks and dispose of it properly at home."
Those found in violation of dog laws can be fined $100 per dog per instance.
