We are seeking a Meat Packer in our Tacoma, WA location Summary Responsible for packing and weighing product efficiently with minimal errors. Will process various products for freezing or fresh productions at an established production and quality level. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include but not limited to: • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times. • Pack fresh fillets and IQF fillets to company expectations in production and quality for fresh orders and for freezing. • Process and pack meat and seafood perishable and frozen products. • Ensure all pallets are wrapped and stacked correctly to ensure minimal movement of boxes in transit. • Communicate supply material levels as needed. • Maintain and ensure proper use of company equipment. • Follow all established company safety and health guidelines • Keep work area clean and organized; follow established sanitation protocols. • Provide back up support for other duties as needed. • Perform other duties, as assigned. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to successfully preform the job. A. Education and Experience Required: • Must have experience in the utilization of food processing equipment, in sanitation and food safety. Preferred: • Experience with the safe operation of fork lifts and powered pallet jacks. B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements • None C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required • Ability to differentiate between various species of fish fillets. • Ability to comprehend simple instructions. • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers • Ability to speak simple sentences. • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
