Description

By John Gibson, WNIN June 1, 2021 The University of Evansville is easing its on-campus COVID-19 restrictions. UE says fully vaccinated people will not be required to wear masks on the campus or practice social distancing indoors or out. The university also says there are no capacity restrictions at its outdoor venues, while indoor venues are limited to 50% capacity. In a release, UE says individuals who have not been vaccinated or have not yet achieved two weeks since the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine should still wear a mask on campus and maintain at least six feet from others when possible. The university cited the CDC's updated COVID-19 guidelines, along with updates from the State of Indiana, Vanderburgh County, and the City of Evansville for its decision. UE also urges everyone 12 and older to get vaccinated against the virus. The United Way of Southwestern Indiana has received a sizable grant to help the area recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
