Description
Great full time, seasonal job! Employment is through the Processing Tomato Advisory Board. We inspect tomatoes from the loads that are being delivered to the processor. They stop at our dedicated inspection stations, and a small sample is conveyed to us from each load. Inspection stations are in Los Banos and Firebaugh (we always try to schedule inspectors to the station closest to their location of residence). Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
PTAB follows the CDC guidelines from the County and State of California.
Inspection begins around mid-July and runs until about mid-October, and proceeds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inspectors would be assigned to work either day shift or night shift, typically 4 or 5 days a week. But, the hours and days can vary. There will be a two-hour training session before the season begins. A drug test is required.
Wages are $14.59 or $15.50, depending on proof of current auto
insurance and a valid driver's license.
