CHICAGO — A federal judge on Tuesday brought an early end to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's supervised release 16 months after his sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump. U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis granted the "early termination of supervision" to Blagojevich, a move that was agreed to by prosecutors. The former governor had served nearly eight years of a 14-year sentence in federal prison after being convicted on corruption charges. Trump commuted Blagojevich's sentence to time served in Feb. 2020. Since being released, Blagojevich was disbarred from practicing law in Illinois. He currently hosts a weekly podcast, "Lighting Rod" on WLS AM 890. A spokesman for Blagojevich declined to comment.
