Road Races, Track And Field Events Kick Off In Tucson This Month

TUCSON, AZ — Tucson Parks and Recreation will host its annual summer track and field and road races every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July. More information can be found on the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Sports Unit webpage or call 520-791-4870. Track and Field Events will include: long jump, high jump, turbo javelin, shot put (ages 12 and over), softball throw, 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes, 800-, 1600-, 3200-meter runs, 4 x 100 relay, and 4 x 400 relay. Ribbons will be given to the top three finishers at each track and field meet. Cost: $3/youth (17 years and younger); $4/adults (18 years and older) Time: Registration begins at 6:30 p.m.; meet begins at 7 p.m. Dates: Every Tuesday, June 8-July 20. Location: Palo Verde High School, 1302 S. Avenida Vega Road Races Events will include: 1-mile predict, 2K, and 5K. Ribbons will be given to the top three finishers at each road race.
