All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt. May 27: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on North Country Road in St. James at 2:57 a.m. Someone opened the back door at yērōs and stole the register drawer and a checkbook, police said.May 26: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Old Landers Court in Smithtown at 11:31 a.m. Someone claimed to be a representative from PSEG and told a homeowner if she didn't pay a bill, they would cut off her electricity, police said. The woman sent money through an app in what police determined to be a scam.May 25: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Bonny Court in Nesconset from April 23 at midnight. Someone stole a diamond ring and two sapphire rings from a home, police said.
