PHOENIX, AZ — A pedestrian died following a fatal hit-and-run over the weekend, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
On Sunday, around 10:30 p.m., police and firefighters responded to the area of 39th Avenue and Grand Avenue where they ultimately pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Preliminary information indicated that the woman was in the roadway and was struck by a vehicle traveling southeast on Grand Avenue, police said.
According to officers, the driver of the first vehicle did not stop or remain on scene. The pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle, also traveling southeast on Grand Avenue.
The driver of that vehicle stopped and remained at the location, police said. There were no indications of impairment with the driver who stayed on scene.
