2 year old Male German Shepherd

Description

We never thought we would have to do this. But at this point, it is what is best for both our family, and our German Shepherd. Please read the entire post before reaching out. Chase is our male German Shepherd, he will be 3 in August. He has a bunch of great qualities, but also some that we can no longer try to deal with. He is fully house trained, and does great on a leash. Every now and then his puppy side comes out, and he wants to wrestle and play. He is a snuggle bug, and just wants to be shown affection. He listens to basic commands and never runs off of let out without a leash. He does great with adults and older children. The not so great: he has become increasingly more aggressive and snaps at our five and eight year old kids. He zeros in on smaller animals, and he is getting to the point where he is easily agitated when small children are around. This used to be rare, but now he is constantly charging at small children, and he is eventually going to make contact with one when we can’t get to him first. He hates his feet being touched. He is still extremely skiddish and submissive, so he will “happy pee” when you first get home, or when meeting new people. He still cowers, which also makes him a bit on edge. We have yet to find someone who can actually cut his nails because he gets very aggressive and snarls at everyone. We got him from the human society almost two years ago. Although he has come a long way, we just can’t risk him attacking one of our kids or someone else’s. He deserves to have a very long, good life after the abuse he suffered before coming to our home. We believe that if he stays here, the time will come that he finally attacks a child, and we will have to our him down. That’s the last thing we want. With that being said, we will absolutely not rehome him to someone with small children. It is preferred that he goes to a home no animals. He does have a husky brother that he wrestles with. But, he also hurts him frequently and is food aggressive with him. I don’t think he understands that he is almost 100 pounds. He is up to date on all shots. He is neutered. He has a heart murmur, but he has never slowed down from it and has had no issues from it. He keeps up with his husky brother just fine. He will come with: collar, leash, harness, remaining Beef Purina One dog food, and dog bed. Please only reach out if you have read the entire post and want to love this dog with his flaws. Do not reach out if you have small children, we won’t even consider you. Rehoming fee of $175. Non-negotiable. We want him to go to a good home with the means to care for him.
