Primary responsibility will be to safely transport vehicles and passengers to their destination frequently over 100 miles. Some trips will take you to heavily populated cities with traffic and destinations that make it difficult to maneuver the trucks. You need patience and skill. Responding to accidents and abandoned vehicles from the Interstates I-90/I-82 and Hwy 97 as well as county and city roads for law enforcement and private property owners. Recovering rolled and totaled vehicles using skill, common sense and attention to your surroundings; with safety being number one priority. Picking up all car parts, sweeping broken glass, cleaning up any vehicle liquids with absorbent, and ensuring all personal belongings are collected and placed back in vehicles. Maintain tow vehicles, keeping them clean, tool boxes organized and stocked with all straps, chains, and winch cables in safe operating condition. Doing pre-trip inspections, checking the truck fluids, verifying operation of all lights, and condition of tires, brakes etc. Document and communicate any service or repairs needed to management. Job Requirements: Must have clean driving abstract, and pass a background check (no felonies). Experience as a tow operator preferred, although training is provided. Commercial truck driving experience with a customer service focus is ideal. Job must be performed in any weather, any time based on your place on the schedule. We ask that you report to work clean, wearing the appropriate clothing for the weather and the job and represent the company in a professional manner. Must be physically capable and knowledgeable with installing tire chains, replacing winch cables and greasing and maintaining the hydraulics on the trucks. If you have automotive mechanical skills we have many projects that we could put you on as well. Helping stranded motorists requires professionalism, patience and a well-rounded personality. This position requires empathy and the drive to go above and beyond for people when possible. This is a commission based position. Any work performed on the property maintaining trucks, office work etc. Will be paid by the hour.
