Crew Lead - Roofing Installer needed, start immediately, experience required. PAY IS $27-$30 per SQUARE (TEAR-OFF AND INSTALL). We offer 5 days PTO after 30 days and 6 paid Holidays Life Insurance Pre Paid Legal Paid Mileage outside of the immediate Salem area. (15+ miles) Residential roofing company seeking hard working, dependable, physically able individual who has either roofing or general construction experience. Must be comfortable with heights and willing to follow instructions and safety procedures. Please read job description below for complete description. Needs to have own reliable transportation and valid drivers license. POSITION SUMMARY Crew Lead will be responsible for managing crew and job completion, ensuring that crew is on site and performing tasks as instructed. Will be responsible for quality of work completed and must have knowledge of roofing standards and processes. Be willing to instruct crew members and maintaing a high quality of of results. Must have good people skills and be able to work with people of all backgrounds and comfortable leading others respectfully. Roofing Installers perform tasks involving physical labor on residential homes. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. Will remove previous roofing (tear‐off), clean and prepare sites, install metal, skylights, vents, replace damaged sheathing, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May assist with other work such as roofing repairs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Performing a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on residential roofing projects; performing manual work in preparing surfaces for installing roofing material • Hauling shingle packs and other materials across the roof • Perform quality installation of roofs with straight lines and excellence of work • Assist with roofing repairs, installing skylight boxes and skylights, replacing pipe jacks and vents • Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards • Handling and storing materials • Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials • Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bringing problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety Director, or HR Manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment. Clean driving record required. • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in roofing and general construction installation work. • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand or kneel for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions • Ability to communicate orally and in writing • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Excellent stamina is required. The employee regularly works on residential roofs 10 to 20 feet above the ground and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt shingles. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.
