Join us on the farm to explore our volunteer opportunities! Come with your family or pod to walk around the farm, taste what’s growing and participate in farm activities. Our Community Chefs will provide a delicious freshly made meal, packaged to-go, with plenty to go around. At this Open Farm Day, we invite you to meet with current volunteers in small groups to learn about our opportunities and to get the lay of the land. We'll have fun activities to help out with, including: Collecting medicinal plants and flowers for our apothecaryHarvesting vegetables and planting starts in our gardensImproving the farm's infrastructure, including sign-makingThe farm and wetland will also be open for your own exploration. Come get outside and be part of our community! Be sure to bring a mask, wear boots, and dress for the weather. Bring any snacks and water bottles you need. Bathrooms and water bottle filling will be available. Additional Information:Sliding Scale: This event is made possible through our sliding scale or "pay as you can" model. Please pay what you are able to while registering. The suggested scale is $5-$100 per group. Priority will be given to BIPOC and David Douglas School District families for slots at the lower end of the scale. You can read our sliding-scale philosophy and explanation here. Free Registration: We are offering free registration using the waiver code OFD21 to low-income families. Please use this code if you need it or if you have a child in a David Douglas school.
