Learn about the importance of enrichment for the zoo's animals. Cosley Zoo’s animals receive enrichment every day. Enrichment lets our animals make choices and exhibit natural behaviors such as climbing, hunting for food, and using their senses. In this workshop, your family will make enrichment activities for some of the zoo’s animals, and then we’ll head out into the zoo to see enrichment in action! Each of the monthly sessions is different, so join us all summer long! After the program, you’re welcome to stay and tour the zoo on your own for an hour at no additional charge. This family program is recommended for ages 5 and up. Program will be held in the Kiebler Room , located on the second floor of the large barn. This space is accessible only by stairs. Face coverings should be worn by all unvaccinated individuals, including children over the age of two. This class requires a minimum number of participants in order to run. Registration fees are non-refundable unless the zoo cancels the program, in which case participants will be notified and will receive a full refund. Cosley Zoo gives visitors up-close interactions with nature right in the heart of the suburbs. Nestled on 5 acres, Cosley Zoo is home to farm animals and native Illinois wildlife. Visitors will discover exhibits that immerse them in natural habitats for white-tailed deer, red fox, Blanding’s turtles, bobcat, a coyote, and more. Cosley Zoo is also a center for education and animal conservation, offering programs that teach people of all ages how to care for the world around them and give back to the communities in which they live, work, and play. PHOTO RELEASE: Cosley Zoo may take photographs or video of participants promoting our programs, services, events, activities, and facilities in our brochures, website or agency social media, etc. By participating in or attending any Cosley Zoo activities the participant (or parent/guardian of a minor participant) agrees to the use and distribution of his or her image (or image of a minor child/ward) in photographs, video recordings, and any other electronic reproductions of such activities for any purpose without inspection, compensation, or any other consideration now and in the future.
