Description
The Bowery is proud to welcome Boys in the Band: The Alabama Tribute It was July hot ‘cross Georgia in 1973 when three cousins from Fort Payne, Alabama set out for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a musical dream. For 7 years the boys made their living playing for tips and watered drinks at what became known as the 8th Wonder of the World, The Bowery bar. These years saw the three small town boys, Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, and Jeff Cook, become a force in country music, launching an unprecedented career of worldwide fame amassing 78 millions albums sold, 42 number one hit songs, countless industry awards and humanitarian honors, and a still unmatched 21 consecutive number one singles on the Hot Country charts. Alabama is arguably the greatest country music group in history, and their original sound and harmonies have never been, and will never be, matched. In 2019 another group of boys from Fort Payne, Alabama, came together to pay homage to these hometown heroes, and Boys in the Band was formed. On July 25th the Boys in the Band bring the Alabama tribute experience back home to The Bowery in honor of Alabama’s 50 years of timeless music. The Bowery is proud to welcome Boys in the Band: The Alabama Tribute for a night of high energy note for note renditions of Alabama’s biggest hits by a group of die hard fans aiming to continue the legacy of their heroes. Roll On to The Bowery, the 8th wonder of the world, the birthplace of the RIAA Country Group of the Century, on July 25th and jam with Boys in the Band: the Alabama Tribute.
