Description

Come as you are because how we stretch and flow our bodies depends on the class' requests. Get outside and do something productive! Hello! June's classes will focus on boosting our immune health! Attending these yoga classes will get you connected to your mind and body and will start you on your health journey. Engage in moderate exercise - Moderate exercise can reduce inflammation, promote the healthy turnover of immune cells and boost the effectiveness of vaccines in people with compromised immune systems.Manage your stress levels - Relieving stress and anxiety is key to immune health because long-term stress promotes inflammation and imbalances in immune cell function.Stay hydrated - Dehydration can cause headaches and hinder your physical performance, focus, mood, digestion, and heart and kidney function.Get enough sleep - Getting adequate rest will strengthen your natural immunity. When you're sick, you sleep more to allow your immune system to better fight the illness. Eat more whole plant foodsWhole plant foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes are rich in nutrients and antioxidants that may give you an upper hand against harmful pathogens. The antioxidants in these foods help decrease inflammation by combatting unstable compounds called free radicals, which can cause inflammation when they build up in your body in high levels.Meanwhile, the fiber in plant foods feeds your gut microbiome, or the community of healthy bacteria in your gut. A robust gut microbiome can improve your immunity and help keep harmful pathogens from entering your body via your digestive tract.Eat more healthy fats - Healthy fats, like those found in olive oil, salmon and chia seeds, may boost your body’s immune response to pathogens by decreasing inflammation. Since chronic inflammation can suppress your immune system, these fats may naturally combat illnesses.Eat more fermented foods or take a probiotic supplement - Fermented foods are rich in beneficial bacteria called probiotics, which populate your digestive tract. A flourishing network of gut bacteria can help your immune cells differentiate between normal, healthy cells and harmful invader organisms.Limit added sugars - Added sugars contribute significantly to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease, all of which can suppress your immune system. Lowering your sugar intake may decrease inflammation and your risk of these conditions.Supplement wisely - Some studies indicate that the following supplements may strengthen your body’s general immune response:Vitamin CVitamin DZincElderberryEchinaceaGarlicMy name is Kathy Chu. I have been teaching outdoor yoga classes, during this pandemic, since July 2020 and this has been completely safe for all attendees. Always, Kathy My name is Kathy Chu. I have practiced yoga, personally, for 13 years. Since receiving my teacher certification from Core Power Yoga in 2018, I have taught hundreds of hours. I am currently training for my Prenatal Yoga Certification and a 500HR Certification. I believe a great yoga teacher should remain a great yoga student. With a consistent yoga practice, you will slowly but surely, see the benefits. I am the strongest, most confident and calmest that I have ever been. It took a few months to feel the changes but the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth has been profound. These changes have helped me through so much and I want to offer the practice and teachings to you.
