Long Shot, But Why Not Aim High?

Me and a bandmate have been talking about this for quite a while, and so we thought why not at least post something on Craigslist? We'd like to play in an '80s new wave/rock band. As poppy as Take on Me by A-ha, Rio by Duran Duran, the Cure, Tears for Fears, Modern English and the Human League to 80s rock like the Cars, Police, Bryan Adams, Journey, Boston, etc. We are a decent rhythm guitarist with vocals and a REALLY decent lead guitarist. We're both in a classic rock band that we'd like to supplement with a side project. The perfect scenario would be to hook up with a drummer, a bass player and keys, all lovers of the '80s and one of whom is also a lead vocalist who can reliably hit the highs (or a separate vocalist) and ideally someone has rehearsal space between Palm Beach Gardens where I (rhythm git and vocals) live and Boynton Beach where my buddy (lead git) lives. Where would it go? Ultimately we'd like to gig, but there are so many planets that would need to align to pull this off that putting too much thought in that direction is probably premature. So whatcha got? Any interest? All ages and genders welcome. (We are old and married with kids and obligations, etc. Serious enough about making music that we show up when we say we will and learn the material prior to rehearsals, but very realistic about our cover/"sort of tribute" band aspirations.
