Description

WESTLAKE, OH — A load of rebar was spilled on I-90 in Westlake on Thursday, police revealed. At 11 a.m., 911 callers reported several broken down cars lining the westbound lanes of I-90 between Cahoon and Crocker roads. Approximately 25 cars had hit debris scattered across the highway, police said. The debris was a load of rebar being ferried by a truck, police said. Officers documented damage to car tires, fenders and gas tanks. Two cars had to be towed from the scene and I-90 was limited to one lane for 90 minutes while the debris was cleaned and vehicles were moved. The truck driver whose vehicle spilled the rebar was cited for allowing load spillage on the highway, police said.
