Two young male rats. Both under a year old.
One is a tan and white dumbo rat. He is shy and sweet. Very cute. He will stay when you hold him and will sit on your shoulder or on a blanket bundle with you (you need to keep an eye on him of course). He is small in size and doesn’t poop on you and is clean but will pee if he gets scared. His name is June but you could rename him I dont know that he responds much to his name but does come up once he knows you.
The other rat is larger his name is Penguin he is black and white. He is more brave and curious. After getting to know us he will climb onto your hand when you hang around the front of the cage and he gets less nervous. He takes food from you and has a big squishy tummy. Penguin is not potty trained and will poop and pee when you hold him. He also used the bathroom all over the cage unlike June and requires more clean up. I’m reading online with efforts they can be trained though! June loves him though and I would prefer they got to a home together. I think Penguin just needs more time and energy.
We have come address a situation where we no longer have time for them. They would do better in a home that can interact with them daily - someone who really wants friendly pet rats. With more hands on I think they will thrive and would walk out of the cage onto you. At the moment they pee and poo when you hold them as they are not used to being handled as much. This would take some training.
They come with a cage. Whatever we have left in bedding. A fair amount of food. Two hiding caves. A food bowl.
Both have been very thirsty in this weather and you must make sure to refill their water daily as they will often drink all of it.
