Description
We adopted this chocolate Dobie in January and he was neutered in March. He has way too much energy for us and requires more attention than we can give so being responsible pet owners he's up for rehoming to someone that can properly train him and give him the attention he requires.
Bill gets along with our other dogs and mostly the outdoor cat. If the cat doesn't run, he doesn't pay it attention but if it does the chase is on and he's faster. He just wants to play, he doesn't harm the cat.
Previous owner said he was moving out of state and couldn't keep the dog so we got him. Previously, the owner worked from home and the dog was inside most of the time, even sleeping on the owner's bed. Well, that wasn't an option for us and it took some time for Bill to adjust. He's very attached to his owner and wants to please. He apparently was used as a breeding dog and mistreated; the previous owner brought him back to health from that life. He has a docked tail and natural ears.
We live in the country and Bill loves to run. He's gotten to the point where he stays on our property but he's never out on his own, always supervised. He has gotten loose a couple of times and though he took off, he always came back soon enough.
Bill doesn't know his size and he gets very excited so probably wouldn't be good around small children since he'll probably knock them down. He has warmed up to everyone that has visited our house after barking (menacingly) at them first along with our other dogs.
He's gone with us camping (once to the coast) and does OK. He's gotten better about not wanting to meet every dog he see's. Before being fixed his drive was tremendous but he's mellowed out some since then. I believe since he was a kennel dog first and the next owner mostly kept him inside, he's like a kid when he's outside and allowed to run.
Rehoming fee.
