Seeking Financial Help

As it has been for many of us, this past year has been especially difficult for me. I spent the past five years in Southern California caring for my medically fragile mother. We had planned to move back to NYC which was my home for many, many years and I submitted my resignation from my college teaching position there in January 2020. My mother was hospitalized at the beginning of February 2020, then released to home hospice. I was required to provide care for her 24/7; the blessing of the pandemic was that I was able to keep my job through spring 2020 because all teaching was online and I was able to stay with my mother. She died June 2020 but I was unable to return to NYC because of the pandemic. As of August, I have been unemployed and, despite applying for hundreds of jobs, have only gotten three interviews. There are far more job opportunities for me in NYC than SoCal, so I returned to NYC a couple weeks ago after my former students helped me raise the funds to move. And then the movers tacked on an additional $800 that I was not told about prior to signing the contract in order for me to get my belongings delivered. I have nothing left. So here I am in NYC, unemployed, and now unable to pay rent that is due on Tuesday June 1 because of the additional $800 I had to pay the movers. I continue to apply for jobs, though my Ph.D. seems to be an obstacle; everybody thinks I'm either over-qualified or under-qualified or too expensive or whatever. So I'm asking for help. Is anybody willing to pay my rent for me? No strings attached. I'm not going to perform sexual favors or anything like that. I'm just seeking someone who is philanthropic in nature and who is willing to help me get back on my feet. CashApp, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal are all acceptable.
