Hidden Hemlock is a family owned cultivation establishment in Westfield, MA. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a full time Cultivation Assistant. Hidden Hemlock is a family-oriented company, where the employee comes first. We are seeking an individual who is open minded, reliable, professional, hardworking – someone who is eager to grow into the role of a facility manager. Cultivation Assistant (Full Time) The Cultivation Assistant is responsible for assisting the managers in the day-to-day functions of the cultivation facility including plant propagation, flowering, and harvest, as well as post-harvest tasks ( processing, trimming, curing, packaging, and storing finished product). The Cultivation Assistant must be a detail-oriented, team player with strong computer/data management and communication skills. Must be able to pass state required background check and be at least 21 years of age. DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS -Working knowledge in agriculture, farming, and/or horticulture practices. -Works well independently and in a team environment. -Engaging and responsible individual with a strong work ethic and communication skills. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES -This is considered a physical labor position, that is best for people that are comfortable with lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds repeatedly, as well as standing, kneeling and crouching for prolonged periods of time. -Strictly adhere to SOP’s (standard operating procedures). -Cultivation of plants (watering, fertigation, trimming, harvesting). -Ability to adhere to tasks assigned by lead cultivators/managers. -Daily plant maintenance and care from seed or clone through to harvest. -Monitoring, defoliating, inspecting for pests or undesired conditions. -Maintaining proper irrigation, reservoir levels, humidity environmental requirements, and deployment of IPM. -Daily cleaning of facility. -Maintaining a clean facility and safe environment. -Data management (excel) experience and computer skills required. -Eager to learn and expand one’s knowledge of botany and indoor agriculture. -Comply with all rules, laws, regulations and industry standards set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Westfield and the Company. -Must be able to communicate effectively with others -Any additional tasks assigned by management. REQUIREMENTS -At least 21 years of age. - 5+ years experience in horticulture, indoor agriculture, farming, botany, or similar academic research. -College degree in soil science, agriculture, botany, horticulture or similar preferred. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. -Must live locally, within 30 minutes of facility. -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. -Ability to perform activities for up to 8 hours a day. -Must pass stringent background test requirements of Massachusetts -Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays. -Have reliable transportation.
