This benefit concert is for the purpose of raising funds to deliver rice to Karen refugees affected by the military coup in Myanmar. Please join us for a delightful evening of Dvořák. This concert is for the specific purpose of raising funds to deliver rice to Karen refugees in Myanmar. First account stories report grenades being thrown toward civilians, air raids on villages, destruction of housing by the military. In effect, leaving people no choice but to flee for their lives to the jungles without adequate provisions for food or shelter. The need is dire and the situation dangerous. 100% of the donations from the concert will go to ASAPH, a group of mission-minded musicians who came together to reach out to a Karen minority tribe in Myanmar and send rice to the people hiding in the jungle. Consider the plight of a school teacher who fled to the jungle a few weeks ago with her entire school made up of 80 students and 9 teachers. They have little to no food and are struggling for their very survival. Let the stirring music of Dvořák inspire you to take action and donate what you can to give the gift of sustenance--rice-- to these precious humans in their time of great need.
