In this 2 1/2 hour workshop, Cathi will teach you the basics of soldering to create your own bracelet or necklace. You will first practice using copper and then move on to sterling silver. You will be creating "jump rings" and then connecting them with solder and a torch to create your own unique chain.
All tools and materials will be provided including 1/2 ounce of Sterling Silver and two clasps. Depending on the size of your chain, you will be able to make one necklace or two bracelets.
About the Artist:
Cathi Milligan started her art career in the field of graphic design before discovering glass. Glass has since become pretty much all she thinks about. Her glass experience spans over 27 years, mastering techniques such as torch working, kiln forming, mosaic, and now adding glass blowing. This experience has afforded her many opportunities such as television appearances demonstrating torch work and kiln forming, as well as macramé, writing a book (on macramé), and some public art commissions. Cathi creates most of her work in her Sun Valley studio, The Glass Studio.
