About 1.08%, or 969 newborn boys, were named Lucas. The most popular girl's name in Florida in 2020 was Emma. The name is derived from the Germanic word ermen meaning "whole" or "universal." As many as 79,808 girls were born in Florida last year. Of them, 1,124 baby girls, or 1.41%, were given the name Emma. The second and third most popular girl names in the state in 2020 were Olivia and Isabella, respectively. About 1.38% of girls born in Florida, or 1,099 baby girls, were named Olivia.
